I'm gonna preach to the choir a little, because in my own life- something I whine to myself about a lot is that there is never ENOUGH. Time. Money. Even emotional things- love, patience, etc. I read something years ago about living more abundantly, and to be honest, I don't remember any of it. Clearly. Cause here I am, still whining.

But something that helps me is to see specifics. So for anyone else who has issues with any sort of lack of abundance, here are some things that might help point you in the right direction.

Today, to make things super accessible, I'm just going to address one small change most people can make.

SODA.

Soda may or may not be an important part of your life. Okay, hopefully it's not- that's a little weird. But I had a rough year and got a little more hooked on soda than I ever had been. Then I gave it up cold turkey two weeks ago. Here are my soda observations.

Complaint: "I don't have enough Money"

Solution: Stop spending your paycheck on Soda!

If you go out regularly and order a soft drink just twice a week, you will be spending about $20 a month on soda. I look at my Netflix bill occasionally and think "hmmmm is it ok that I spend $8 on movies- that I constantly watch." I'm conscious of that very minor investment that I use all the time. But when I was a soda addict, I never said, you know, I'm spending hundreds of dollars a year on a drink that isn't good for me.

Complaint: "I wish I were in better health"

Solution: If you have health issues- little ones, big ones, particularly unexplainable ones, try giving up that 12 ounces of liquid poison and see what happens.

"But I drink DIET Soda." Guess what- google the health effects of diet soda. Many argue that it's worse than regular soda, inhibits weight loss, contains aspartame which has crack-like addiction causing"¦ things in it. Mmm"¦Refreshing! And obviously, for the regular soda addicts, who needs another 50 grams of sugar in a 12 ounce aluminum can. Who are we trying to kid?

What are the other little changes that can save your health and wallet? Your consumption of alcoholic beverages or cigarettes? That app that costs ten dollars a month so you can have a new ringtone? If we would all live a little more consciously we could save a lot of time and energy. Put that TV show on DVR and get out and live your life.
